I take photographs of women wearing bows, a given attribute of femininity and of a compulsion to conform social expectations to stay “beautiful” irrespective of (the womens’) age. I use this symbol of femininity on specific parts of the women face, those which are standing for forming opinions and for self-expression such as mouth and eyes. By this way the bows are covering the impacts of violence and discrimination and also incapacitating the ability of giving any response to the harassment.
